Welcome to my shop where you´ll find fine art prints as well as original artwork.

A bit about my work:

My artwork mixes detailed figurative pencil drawings with colourful cut-outs. The cut-outs are made from sections of former paintings with watercolour, gouache or paint markers on paper.

Studying Fine Art and Art Education brought about a love for art history and I feel really lucky to have lived in Madrid with access to the art collections in its museums. This had an impact on my work and you can see features of some famous art works in my illustrations. My pieces also feature elements from the natural world, such as animals and geographical features like the sea, mountains and icebergs. Some of these pieces have been taken one step further and have been animated using stop motion. You can see these stop motion animations and other work on my website: https://www.deirdrebyrne.com/.

It was after an exhibition in Madrid that some friends encouraged me to start making prints of my work. After some experimentation, I´m really happy with the print and colour quality that the prints in my shop have. They really capture the texture and depth of the originals and I´m delighted that my artwork is hanging in homes around the world!

A bit about me:

I´m an artist, illustrator and teacher from Co. Wexford, Ireland. I moved to Spain 6 years ago to work full time as an art teacher in a bilingual school in Madrid. I continued to work on my own art practice, but found it challenging to find the time and energy after a full day´s teaching to focus on making my own work. It was after I participated in ´Ilustrísima´, a drawing and Illustration Fair in Museo ABC in Madrid that I began to seriously consider dedicating more time to making art. My original artworks and prints were selling more so I cut back to working part time and dedicated more time to making art and selling my work online and in shops.

6 months ago I moved with my partner from Madrid to Seville and we found a lovely bright space in La Alameda area of the city. Bit by bit we´ve transformed the space into what is now Two Birds Gallery & Studio. I´m now able to work full time on my art and concentrate on running this online shop and the small shop in the gallery. I still love teaching and really enjoy giving regular art workshops and hosting drawing events in the studio as well as curating exhibitions in the gallery.
